So, jumping the gun a bit, I found this lovely bag on clearance at Neimann Marcus Last Call. I couldn't resist. $140 down to $29.

THE FOLLOWING STEPS

After I take an inventory

I will revisit all jackets, tops and bottoms, see what goes together nicely and purchase some pieces that fill in the gaps.  One thing I desperately need are foundation garments!  So that first.

After filling in the gaps I will start putting outfits together with accessories. Then I plan to make a collection or set on the Polyvore website and publish it here on my Bib and Tucker Blog.  I will also post a pic of me wearing the collection to see if it really works.

After that I don't know where this adventure will take me.  I hope to learn alot about my clothing style and who I really am when it comes to dressing.  I might turn this blog into an OOTD (outfit of the day) just to keep me challenged in this area of my life.

STEP NUMBER 1!

THIS IS HOW I BEGIN:
With the goals I listed below in my mind and printed on a piece of paper to refer to often, I will begin by taking inventory of what I have mindlessly gathered and collected over the past years.  As I quickly take inventory I will donate things I know right off that I don't want anymore.  That should clear out about 10% of what I have right off the bat.  The harder choices will be made later when I try putting things together or when I realize that I will never wear that thing.

SO STEP NUMBER ONE IS:

TAKE INVENTORY OF WHAT I HAVE ALREADY

Organizing My Bib and Tucker

It's been a long time since I've worn anything out of my closet.  In order to remedy this, I'm attacking it, and I'm going to be somewhat brutal.  I've been wearing things out of two drawers of my dresser for a very long time.  If I got rid of 90% of my wardrobe I probably wouldn't even miss it.  So...that's what brings me to this lofty goal.

THESE ARE MY WARDROBE GOALS:

- having a wardrobe that I am absolutely in love with and is fun to play with.

- having a wardrobe that will mix and match pieces easily.

- having a wardrobe that is mostly washable, comfortable, breathable, layerable

- having a wardrobe that fits my lifestyle that I am actually living, not one I think I should be living or one I used to be living.  One for today!

- having a wardrobe that flatters me with the right colors, the right fit, and the right style

- having a two season wardrobe is going to be necessary since I live in the north, so one for Winter weather and one for Summer weather, being layerable should get me through the Spring and Fall.

- Accessories that will work with this wardrobe, fun pieces that are colorful and playful to go with my artistic side.

I'm currently using two closets in our house, the one on the left is in my bedroom, the one on the right is the closet in our office, it's a small walk-in that I took over a few years ago.  Confession: I kind of have a purse fetish!
